4. HALIFAX COMPLAINTS

Halifax prides themselves on their ability to resolve customer complaints quickly, and strive to resolve all phone and branch complaints the day they were received. If matters cannot be resolved instantly, Halifax sets a five day time frame to address the complaint. Almost all complaints will be resolved by then. However, if matters remain unresolved, Halifax will provide a written update to customers along with an estimated date of resolution.

Halifax provides their customers with five complaint channels:

  1. Branch walk-in
  2. Telephone: 0800 072 9779, 24/7 (Textphone: 0800 056 7294; calling from abroad: +44 0113 366 0167)
  3. Online Form: https://www.halifax.co.uk/contactus/how-to-complain/complain-online/
  4. E-mail: onlinecomplaints@halifax.co.uk (Halifax recommend using the online form over e-mail owing to security concern)
  5. Post: Head of Customer Services, Halifax, PO Box 761, Leeds LS1 9JF

In the event the customer is not satisfied with the resolution recommended by Halifax, they are encourage to seek the assistance of the Financial Ombudsman Service, which is an independent arbiter sanctioned by the government. They can be reached using the following methods:

• Telephone: 0800 023 4 567

• Email: complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

Alternatively, customers can simply fill in the online form at their website to get the ball rolling. Although the Ombudsman’s decision is not legally binding, financial services companies will typically usually accept their recommendation.

5. CALLING HALIFAX CUSTOMER SERVICES

Halifax’ customer service line is open seven days a week between 7.00 a.m. and 11.00 p.m. Every day, thousands of customers call their service line for a variety of reasons. If you would like to reduce your hold time and speak to a customer service officer much faster, simply call during off peak hours, like early in the morning or at night.

To make the calls even shorter, customers should prepare their documentations like statements and receipts in advance so they are able to provide the service rep with all the information they need quickly and accurately.

It is also a good idea to record the name of service rep you have spoken to, as well as the time, for future reference
